designed, manufactured, marketed and
serviced by Jyoti Ltd. are broadly divided

| The final design released from Design
Department to Manufacturing is based
on valuable inputs from the experienced
Engineers from various Department viz.
Standard Dept.. Quality Dept., Manufacturing
Dept., Customer Services Dept., Marketing
Dept.. as Indicated below |

Standard Department
ensures that materials, standards
and tolerances for components
and the products are as per plant,
national or international standards. |

Quality Department specifies
quality standards based on performance
requirements and information on
field complaints in the past.
The inspectability of various
components are also taken into
account. |

Manufacturing Department examines
the design in terms of capabilities
of the existing machine tools
and other manufacturing processes
to achieve the dimensions and
tolerances indicated. |

|
|
Customer Services Department
examines the design from the point
of view of ease of erection, maintenance
or servicing. |

|
|
Marketing department examines
the design from the view point
of market feed backs, and existing
customer requirements. |

| The design review is carried out by
scrutiny of drawings by Experienced
Engineers of the above Departments in
a meeting called Drawing Finalization
Meeting. |

| Conformance to Quality |
| |
| Planning for conformance to
quality by manufacturing, involves the
following stages : |
| |
|
Vendor selection
and development for supply of
raw materials, components and
fabrication to meet the standards
laid down in the bill of materials.
drawings. etc. is done by Purchase
Department with the help of Engineers
from Manufacturing. quality &
R & D personnel. |
|
Preparation of process charts
is done by Product Engineering
Group. The Information on process
sheets is transferred on job cards
for each manufacturing order,
to manufacture components as per
the process sequence and methods
indicated on the job cards. |

| Verification of
conformance to quality of various
stage of manufacturing as indicated

Inspection of incoming materials |

Sub-assembly & assembly
inspection viz. stator assembly,
rotor assembly etc. |

| Product Testing |
| |
| Type tests are carried out on the
prototype machines to establish the
design. Routine tests are carried out
on all the machines. |

| Painting and Packaging Inspection |
| |
| Painting is carried out on the finished
product after assembly and testing as
per the instructions, issued by Industrial
Engineering Department. Depending on
the Customers requirement and the environment
in which the product is installed. Special
painting schemes and procedures are
followed. |

| Performance Quality |
| |
| Given the design quality and conformance
to quality, the performance quality
depends on the care exercised during
installation. Adherence to the guidelines
indicated in the manuals by the manufacturer,
operational environment and the periodic
checks and maintenance of the equipment.
Completeness of records on the maintenance
carried out and performance data, will
help in trouble shooting. |

| Other Quality Measures |

Metrology - All
jigs, fixtures, press tools and
other tooling requirements for
production are inspected by Metrology
Department. All new cutting tools
such as Reamers, Drills, Milling
cutters etc., are inspected as
per IS/BS Standards. |
|
Gauge Control - All instruments
and gauges are periodically inspected
for their accuracy and only the
gauges which are within the limits
of accuracy, are issued to shop
floor. |
|
Quality Control Meeting - The
feedback received from Customer
Services Department is discussed
in the Quality Control Meetings.
Senior persons from Quality. Services.
Production, Production Engineering,
Marketing, Design and R &D
participate in the meeting to
take actions to upgrade quality
as part of our efforts to strive
for continuous quality improvement
and also to meet the increasing
quality requirements from customers. |
